At illumin8, sustainability is not a standalone initiative. It is part of how we grow, manufacture, and operate as a global business. As our company continues to expand, we remain committed to reducing our environmental impact through measurable improvements, responsible manufacturing, and continuous investment in better practices.

Our environmental strategy focuses on practical and achievable changes that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support the communities we are part of. By combining innovation with accountability, we aim to create long-term value for both our customers and the environment.

What We’ve Achieved

In 2024, illumin8 achieved ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 accreditations. These internationally recognised standards reflect our commitment to quality management, environmental responsibility, and workplace health and safety. Achieving these certifications was an important milestone and recognition of the standards we strive to maintain across all departments.

Over the past year, we introduced several operational improvements designed to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Wastewater collected from our air conditioning systems is now repurposed within our industrial boilers, helping reduce water consumption. We also implemented cloud-based IT systems, reducing paper use while improving administrative efficiency.

Across our packaging operations, we replaced most plastic packaging materials with cardboard and recycled brown paper, reducing plastic usage by 90%. Energy consumption has also been reduced through the replacement of all factory and office lighting with LED alternatives.

In addition, we actively monitor carbon emissions, water usage, and electricity consumption to identify opportunities for continuous improvement throughout our operations.

Where We Are Today

All waste wood and metal generated through our operations is recycled through local recycling partners. We have also fully replaced solvent-based inks within our printing processes with water-based alternatives, significantly lowering the environmental impact of production.

To improve the local environment around our facilities, we planted trees and flowers across the factory site to support better air quality and create greener surroundings for employees and visitors.

Our latest ISO 45001 surveillance audit identified three minor findings, which are currently being addressed through updated procedures and staff training. During the reporting period, our operations used:

• 7,400kg of aluminium

• 841,280 kWh of electricity

• generated 339.08 tonnes of CO₂ emissions

• produced 121,000kg of fabric waste

Environmental awareness remains an important part of our company culture. Currently, 80% of our employees have completed environmental training focused on operational impact, waste reduction, and future sustainability goals.

We are proud to report that we recorded no environmental violations or incidents during the year and maintained full compliance with recycling regulations in the UAE.

Our plan for 2026

In 2026, we aim to build on the progress already made across our operations. One of our immediate priorities is resolving all minor findings identified during the latest ISO surveillance audit and strengthening internal processes to prevent similar issues in the future.

We are also preparing updated environmental training programmes that will include all employees across the business. By increasing awareness and engagement, we want every team member to understand both the environmental impact of our operations and the role they play in improving them.

Our waste management reviews have identified several opportunities for further efficiency improvements. During 2026, we plan to:

• reduce electricity consumption by 2%

• reduce water consumption by 2%

• reduce CO₂ emissions by 3%

• reduce fabric waste by 5%

• ensure 95% of aluminium waste is recycled

These targets represent practical and measurable improvements that support our long-term sustainability strategy.
